An ambiguity or coexistence of ends is aligned with this limit transition between fiction and reality.  The obsession with death,  opressive  inner worlds,  the marginal and self-destructive are nothing more but simple points of departure for the work of Carlos Maté, his dark and delicate works and installations become a mirror of the culture of the image and the global anxiety. An extreme and obsessive, aesthetic language borrowed from the subcultures, in the corners and crannies of the globalizing culture shows us the emptying of sense characteristic of our era through the contrast with personal universes of immense pain and despair.
